Aries Season

Hello, Aries Stargazers and other curious sign Stargazers! In the spirit of Aries season, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on and appreciate all the Aries energy. Not just the Aries energy from sun signs, but the entirety of Aries energy—even the tendrils of its fire that show through charts that are murky with water, earth, and air.

Cardinal, Fire.

“Fire needs to breathe to burn, so take a deep breath and rise.”

March 21st marks the first day of Aries season, the start of the astrological New Year. It’s a time when warmth returns to us, and it feels as though the world is opening up once again—inviting us to step out and welcome in the spring. On this day, Aries restarts our year, bringing life back into our half-empty vessels and motivating us to stay strong and continue on this difficult yet beautiful journey we call life.

Aries carries the cardinal quality. As a cardinal fire sign, this Aries energy packs a punch. Aries are motivated individuals who strive to beat the odds at all costs. But as glamorous as it is to wear the cloak of loyalty and royalty, to be draped in awe and admired in the finest fashions, Aries pays the price. An Aries knows that nothing comes easy, and they are willing to work for what they want—manifesting it by focusing only on the prize.

The Ram.

The astrological symbol of Aries is the Ram (a male sheep). In fact, “Aries” is Latin for ram. These animals are strong and often underestimated. They are capable of climbing rocky mountain edges. The way they move is nothing short of precise and magnificent. They navigate rough terrain with ease, but most importantly, with purpose. Every stride, every step, is methodical. You can tell by the way they move. When the earth beneath their feet trembles, they do not falter. They continue to move with grace and purpose.

Ruling Planet: Mars.

Mars was named after the Roman god of war. Mars has two moons and no rings. It is home to the tallest mountain in our solar system… until proven otherwise. Astrologically, Mars is the planet of physical energy, willpower, passion, strength, courage, and action. Mars reacts—much like the many volcanoes on its surface. Mars is also considered a malefic planet in astrology, meaning it can sometimes have an unfavorable influence.

Tarot.

The tarot card that most resembles the Aries/Mars energy is undeniably The Emperor. He sits on his throne unwavering. Two ram heads are seen in the back corners of his chair. He holds a scepter in his right hand. He represents power and establishment. He is royalty. He is a leader of the people. The Emperor encourages us to let go of what doesn’t serve us.

Compatibility.

Aries is said to be compatible with other fire signs—Leo and Sagittarius—and air signs, such as Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius. However, this is based solely on sun sign compatibility. There is an entire chart to consider. Do listen to your heart when it comes to matters of love. I don’t believe anyone can tell someone whom to love or not love—that’s for each person to decide.

In Conclusion.

Aries is courageous and passionate—an amazing energy to start the cosmic new year. No matter what, we can always depend on our Aries Stargazers to take action, to be ready, and to conquer anything they set their mind to.
